Kevin Colton has been a professional photographer for over 30 years. Living in the Finger Lakes area of Upstate, New York a few miles from the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge as well as the Adirondack Mountains has given him the inspiration to capture natures beauty and share these images with others that appreciate these beautiful landscapes.
In 2010 photographer he won the Silver Award in the category of "Photographer of the Year" in the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) 2010 Circle of Excellence Awards. Forty-four entries were judged in this competition and Colton was one of only three photographers in the country to receive silver awards. Ten of Colton's photos were submitted for consideration, representing a range of settings and interactions including sporting events, science research, student-faculty interaction, the natural beauty of the campus, and the life of Hobart and William Smith students.
As a member of the University Photographers of America, Colton’s photographs earned him over 15 monthly awards during 2011. His HDR version of the HWS Boathouse was chosen as the “Best of Show” in November 2010. His work has appeared in publications such as the Audubon, Birdwatcher, Newsweek, and numerous webpage’s for non-profit nature organizations.

Recently, Colton's photography of AXIS Dance Company performing at the Colleges was included in DanceMedia.com http://dancemedia.com/v/3658. In March, he won first-place in the News category of the Monthly Image Competition (MIC) of the University Photographers Association (UPAA), and second-place in February in the "Personal Vision" category of the MIC. http://www.upaa.org/winners.php

A professional photographer with more than 30 years of experience, Colton joined Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2006.
